Truus Huijbregts talks to you about grûn (soil) and ‘pests’. Also demonstration of felting technique.On âlde grûn (old soil) in Huizum church, Truus Huijbregts will show works she has made in response to the Arcadia theme of ‘grûn’.

On Saturday 12 and 19 July, at 2pm and 3.30pm, you are welcome to engage in conversation about ‘pests’ in your grûn. In addition, Truus Huijbregts will demonstrate how loose wool fibres merge into a woollen cloth.

This is a great opportunity to visit the exhibition ‘Ûnder the grûn’ (beneath the soil) in the centuries-old village church of Huizum: At this ancient spot, Truus Huijbregts will exhibit her works with the theme ‘Ûnder de grûn’. Grûn is a theme close to her heart: living and working in the middle of the Greidhoeke, she is inspired by everything around her. The panoramas, the cloudy skies, the shades of green, the changing seasons, the sounds of animals, the ground, the wind, the peace, the rhythm. The vastness around her gives her the space, the freedom, to experiment fully with the materials she loves. She works with textiles, acrylic, and other ingredients to create her works while sewing, felting, printing, finding and shaping.
