Braiding, nesting, care in a visual representation
Birds weave a nest to welcome new life. Carefully or sloppily, from litter or covered with the softest moss, every bird is different. And we, what do we weave?
In Vlechtwerk (Weaving), we meet two women: a singer who weaves sounds and a weaving woman in an intertwined world. Light and shadows, birds and fish, branches and twigs emerge from the pockets of her skirt. She weaves everything she finds into her story. She creates and creates, until she discovers that what you create also wants to be cared for by you. What do you weave your nest with? If you care for someone else, who will care for you? A visual performance for all the senses, about weaving, nesting and safety.
A production by Profound Play in co-production with Grand Theatre Groningen.
