A wordless, visual fantasy ride
Welcome to the enchanting world of HEY Wollie.
This toddler performance takes little ones on a journey of discovery, from the earliest light of morning to the moment night falls.
Guided by curiosity, the Maskermeiden step into a world full of woolly things.
What’s that — a blanket? Are those a nose and two eyes?
And then, in the middle of their exploration, Wollie appears — a big, woolly figure who seems just as puzzled as they are.
Because Wollie also has to discover who he is.
Why does he have feet? Why is he so big?
And who is that girl waving at him?
To top it all off, a robot dog appears!
Together, they create a joyful celebration of wonder and discovery. In the end, Wollie and the robot dog become friends — and close the show with a dance.
And then, together with all the children, tired and happy, we curl up under the wool.
HEY Wollie (ages 2+) is a visual performance with no spoken words.
The Maskermeiden understand that young children don’t yet fully grasp language — so instead, they use visual and sensory elements to communicate and guide toddlers on a magical journey through imagination.
After the show, the Maskermeiden invite all the children to stay a little longer and create their very own mini Wollie charm out of real sheep’s wool — a special keepsake to take home.
This event takes place in the White Box at Bouwurk, at the Oldehoofsterkerkhof in Leeuwarden, Fryslân.
