Set within the white, sacred space of the Pier Pander Museum in Leeuwarden, the work captures a quiet moment in the future\u2014one in which visitors are confronted with a powerful question: What happens when the roles are reversed, when it\u2019s no longer clear who is the saviour and who needs saving?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Myn fest is dyn fest <\/em>functions as a mirror: Who am I? Who is the Frisian, and who the migrant? Who is the guest, and who is the host? Who belongs to me? Who doesn\u2019t? And what if the one who doesn\u2019t belong\u2026 is me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hooghiemstra and De Vries don\u2019t shy away from their own Frisian background. Both grew up with the ideal of <em>mienskip<\/em>\u2014a cherished idea of mutual connection and belonging. But both also know that a community can turn on you. That solidarity can exclude those who fall outside the lines. This theme has shaped their work for many years.
