Grutsk (Proud)! Tonight, Bosk is the winner of the Dutch Design Award 2023 in the habitat category.
“Bosk is a brilliant, nature-inclusive protest with demonstrators you’ll fall in love with; the whole process is exemplary, with trees as prominent leading roles.” According to the jury.
Dutch Design Award: “Bosk succeeds brilliantly in influencing public space with all kinds of elements that have one thing in common: they aren’t buildings. Bosk shows what the power of participation can really be. It’s the temporary nature that draws people in: for a moment, they get to experience what it means to have trees on that slightly-too-warm square, or how a few trees can make dark corners cosy. When the forest moves on, it’s missed.”
Bruno Doedens: “The key message is the role of art and culture in driving the transition and creating new perspectives. There needs to be more room for that. Artists are able to sketch new perspectives that teach us to look at our own reality differently.”
